Be Cheesemaker for a Day!

It’s back! After weathering the storm, we’re finally ready to welcome you back into the cheeseplant to Be The Cheesemaker! Here’s how it works:

For a few hours on a weekday of your choosing, you can be cheesemaker for a day. You’ll help pack curds into cheese moulds, put the cheeses under the press, tidy up, then relax and enjoy a cheese tasting while you admire your hard work.

Days: Monday – Friday
Includes: The experience! :) Plus, a 2-pound wheel of cheese you made (after it ages 60 days), a Pedrozo logo T-shirt and eternal infamy on this Web site (optional), like Jill and Leigh Ann, our first Honorary Curd Herders!

A few notes on Be The Cheesemaker:
This isn’t so much of a class as it is a chance to hang out with our cheesemaker and make a batch of cheese. She’ll try to answer as many questions as possible, but it’s really just an opportunity to enjoy the art (and hard work) of cheesemaking.

The day will start around noon and end at about 3 PM. Cheese tasting will follow.

This is hard work! Expect to be leaning over the vat and getting wet while packing curd. We recommend this experience to children 12 years and older when accompanied by an adult.

Dress accordingly: Clean jeans and t-shirts are the best attire. Please avoid wearing fleece or other material that can “catch” debris. Avoid handling animals prior to cheesemaking. We will provide hair nets, aprons and booties. Please, no scented oils or lotions, acrylic nails, nail polish or jewelry.
